Astrid Ohletz has an education as a library assistant but worked as a legal secretary for one of the partners of a large, international law firm for more than ten years before she became a publisher. Publishing combines her love of books with her understanding of legal and economic issues.
She also holds a certificate in editing from the Academy of German Book Trade.
In her free time, she writes stories under her pseudonym Emma Weimann and did win a GCLS award for best erotica in 2015.
Being able to publish books where subtext is maintext is a dream come true for Astrid.
Ylva Publishing was founded in 2012 and is an imprint of the German based Ylva Verlag. While Ylva Verlag publishes German lesbian and bi fiction, Ylva Publishing focuses on English lesbian and bi fiction. We also published one Italian novella and are in the process of translating our first book into Spanish. We also sold licences of our books to a French publisher.
In 2016 Queer Pack was established as another imprint. Queer Pack publishes German and English titles and is home to the queer stories that don’t often have a platform, be they about characters who are trans, non-binary, genderfluid, asexual, aromantic, pansexual, bisexual — the list goes on!
